POSCO COMMITTEE
In compliance with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, St. Mary’s English Medium School, Kodanchery has constituted a POCSO Committee to ensure a safe, secure, and child-friendly school environment.

Objective

The POCSO Committee is committed to safeguarding the rights, dignity, and well-being of every child and ensuring protection against all forms of abuse and exploitation.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create awareness among students, staff, and parents about child safety and protection

  • Prevent, identify, and address any form of child abuse or harassment

  • Ensure prompt reporting and redressal of complaints in a confidential and sensitive manner

  • Conduct awareness programmes and training sessions on child protection

  • Ensure strict adherence to CBSE guidelines and legal provisions under the POCSO Act

Confidentiality & Support

  • All complaints are handled with utmost confidentiality

  • Necessary support and guidance are provided to the affected child

  • Zero tolerance towards any form of child abuse

Reporting Mechanism

Students and parents can report concerns directly to:

  • Class Teacher / Principal

  • Any member of the POCSO Committee
